The last competition in 2024 was organized by the e-tawerna club in Bojanów. On the premises of the Caritas Rehabilitation and Adaptation Center of the Sandomierz Diocese, a track was laid out consisting of 15 positions with two targets each, i.e. 30 figures.
Two shooters competed for victory in the group. I shot with a STEYR CHALLENGE HFT SUPER rifle and Wojtek with a STEYR CHALLENGE HFT rifle. Both in the limit and caliber 4.5 mm.
We went evenly until the halfway point of the track, having a comparable number of points. However, that day, form came to me and there was no other shooter on the entire track who shot better than me.
I scored 58 points out of 60 possible and thus took first place in Sunday’s competition. Victory 🙂
The organizers prepared one additional figure, which was outside the main competition, as an additional prize. At the station, it had to be hit very precisely, because its HIT ZONE was only 6.3 mm in diameter. It is worth recalling that according to the hunter field target regulations, the smallest diameter of the round hit point can be at least 15 mm.
The difficulty with hitting it was that it was not possible with 6.35 mm shot and 4.5 mm leaves practically no free space.
I did not manage to hit it, even though I hit the edge of the hit zone, but the ricochet went into the tree. However, there were a few good shooters who hit and knocked the figure over.
Comparing the two STEYR CHALLENGE HFT and STEYR CHALLENGE HFT SUPER rifles, there is not much difference. Both are very accurate and ideal for field shooting. In principle, the super version gives a slight advantage, because in hunter field target shooting, losing just one point causes a drop of several positions compared to the winner. Both rifles showed their class.
I invite you to the only video on the channel where I showed the entire HFT track with 30 positions, their distances and a duel between shooters with practically the same air rifles.
